Who we are

BAE Illustrations is a handmade art and ceramics business run by Leanne as a sole trader, based in Aberporth, West Wales. When this policy says “we,” “us” or “I,” it means BAE Illustrations. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal information collected through baeillustrations.store.

What information we collect

• •When you place an order: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number. Your card payment details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.
• •When you join the newsletter: your name and email address.
• •When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
• •Automatically as you browse: basic technical and usage information (such as pages viewed and general device information) collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

• •To process, fulfil and deliver your orders.
• •To contact you about your order or reply to your messages.
• •To send you marketing emails about new products and offers, but only if you have signed up — and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• •To run, secure and improve our website and understand how it is used.

We rely on different legal grounds for this: performing our contract with you (to handle your orders), your consent (for marketing emails), and our legitimate interests (to run and protect the website).

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the trusted services that help us run the shop, and only as much as they need to do their job:

• •Omnisend — manages our newsletter and sends marketing emails.
• •Vercel and Sanity — host our website and store its content.
• •Resend — delivers our emails, such as contact replies and order confirmations.
• •Royal Mail and couriers — deliver your order to you.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it to standards comparable to UK data protection law.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies — some to make essential things work (like remembering your basket), and some to help us understand how the site is used. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order information for as long as needed to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and tax obligations (tax records are generally kept for six years). We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
